Concerted action against government abuse has a long tradition going back to before the revolution. Concerted action is needed again: To abolish the F-35 training flights. To protect your health and safety. To protect your children. To enforce your constitutional rights. To protect the rule of law. To stop the egregious wanton violence F-35 training flights inflict amidst Vermont’s most densely populated cities and towns. To stop the state-sponsored violence particularly directed at low income and minority neighborhoods. F-35 jets burning massive amounts of oil to train for wars for oil that accelerate global climate catastrophe.
In 2021 organize with your neighbors and at your schools and workplaces to plan concerted actions. Post on Front Porch Forum and social media to build action to abolish F-35 training flights. Petition elected officials. Speak at selectboard meetings. Hold events on Zoom or in the streets: demonstrations, rallies, picket lines, sit-ins, civil disobedience, and strikes.
· Demand that the governor and legislature use their constitutional authority over the training of the state militia to halt the F-35 training flights in any populated area.
· Demand that your state reps and senators hold hearings in their legislative committees on the damage F-35 training flights cause to hearing, learning, and cognitive development.
· Demand that your city or town selectboard put a town meeting resolution on the ballot calling on the state to abolish F-35 training flights in any populated area.
· Demand that the Vermont Department of Health update its 2016 report that highlighted damage to hearing, learning, and cognitive development from F-35 flights.
· Demand enforcement of the Vermont reckless conduct laws under which F-35 training flights in cities and towns are illegal.
· Demand that the City of Burlington use its authority as airport owner.
· Call on the Vermont ACLU to help end your suffering from state-sponsored F-35 training flights in a populated area in blatant violation of US and Vermont Constitutional rights.
just that logos/posters featuring the plane would do well to always show it pointing down, instead of up.
