F35 Takeoff Noise at North End of Runway

   This measurement was taken off Berard Drive, just off Airport Parkway, very near Pizza Putt and a number of commercial buildings in the immediate area.

   The jets are moving very fast at very low altitudes here, so there is a brief spike of high noise that very quickly dissipates to below 90dB-C.  This underscores there isn’t nearly the extended exhaust rumble here as there is once they get further aloft, and it ‘spreads’ throughout the city from a higher elevation.

The ‘headline number’ here is 124 dB-C.
