Vermont Air National Guard's Facebook page has a post calling for a halt to F-35 training in a populated area
The Air Guard's Facebook page offers you the opportunity to directly tell the men and women of the Guard about how the F-35 is hurting you
The sound of freedom emerged right on the Vermont Air National Guard Facebook page. A posted comment calls on members of the Guard to demand that commanders obey military regulations and conduct the F-35 training remote from any populated area.
Citizens are free to add comments on the Guard's Facebook. That page is open for you to speak directly to the men and women of the Vermont Air National Guard. It can be used to tell Guard members how the F-35 flights in a city are hurting you.
True, Guard commanders are in denial. As are the governor, legislative leaders, US Senators and Congressman, and judges. All Vermont’s top political and military leaders are obsequiously subservient to the military-industrial complex. And the wars for oil. Willing to sacrifice the hearing and cognitive development of 3000 Vermont families.
Have you ever heard the governor or a commander even mention a military necessity to practice with F-35 jets in a city? There is none. Yet military necessity is an essential requirement for any military operation. Particularly if civilians or civilian property may be harmed. Mere convenience is insufficient. Money and jobs are irrelevant. Absent military necessity to conduct the training in a city the order is illegal and the operation must be aborted.
Nor does a commander ever mention “distinction,” another of the military’s own regulations. Distinction requires military forces to keep their forces and operations separate from populated areas.
Are you a member of the Vermont National Guard?
If you are a member of the Guard, we need you to protect civilians. We need you to demand that your commanders strictly obey the military’s own law of war principles right here in Vermont. We urge you to join us in demanding an end to F-35 training in a city.
Are you hurt by the F-35 training flights?
If you are hurt by the F-35 training flights in a populated area, tell members of the Vermont Air National Guard about it on their Facebook page. Tell members of the Guard about the pain, the injury, the distress, and the suffering you and your family experience from F-35 flights in a city. Ask members to join with you—and with the voters of the cities of Burlington and Winooski—to demand a halt to the F-35 training in any populated area.
While the commanders and the governor use the F-35 to blast their way into the privacy and sanctity of your home and yard with ear and mind destroying F-35 noise hundreds of times a month, you, a civilian, have the opportunity to silently reach onto the screens of individual Guard members with your words, your facts, and your plea. That is the real sound of freedom. Though totally silent, it is a sound that can no longer be ignored, denied, or disparaged.
