War: What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing. The genocide continues. The wars escalate. Vermont politicians and state national guard commanders are complicit.
The never-ending US wars in the Middle East since 2001 have not been successful:
1. US wars in Iraq and Syria based on lies. No success. US cost = $2.9 Trillion.
Edwin Starr — War (original video 1969)
2. US war in Afghanistan that ended without success. US cost = $2.313 Trillion
3. Escalating US complicity with genocide in Gaza.
4. Escalating US reprisals against Yemen. Because they stand up to the genocide.
5. Escalating US reprisals against Syria and Iraq.
6. Escalating US threats against Lebanon and Iran.
The US abandoned human rights. The US abandoned the laws of war.
The war comes home
Vermont politicians and commanders knowingly and deliberately positioned 115-decibel F-35 training where the extreme noise would specifically target and harm children and adults in low-income and minority parts of Burlington, S. Burlington, Winooski, and Williston. The purpose: so Vermont Air National Guard pilots have daily practice hurting civilians so they are prepared and trained to kill civilians without compunction when they are called up and deployed in the ongoing and escalating illegal, immoral, and unjust US wars.
This chart, from the Final US Air Force F-35 Operational Basing Environmental Impact Statement 2013, shows the number of Vermont households, the number of people, and the number of acres targeted with the extreme F-35 noise by top Vermont politicians and Guard commanders who order the illegal and immoral F-35 training from the runway at Burlington International Airport amidst the most densely populated cities in the state.
Cease Fire Now! No to escalation. No to reprisals. No to genocide. No to ethnic cleansing. No to collective punishment. No to torture. No to war.
No to hurting Vermonters with F-35 jets to train airmen to kill civilians in US wars. No to the climate killing F-35. No to the F-35 nuclear bomber in Vermont.
The best way to support our soldiers in Jordan, Iraq, and Syria is to bring them all home now and keep them home!
Money for health care, education, housing, climate, child care, student debt, and veterans. Not one more penny for war!
Those trillions did go into organized corporate pockets.
Who share a sliver of the trillions — a few tens of millions — to buy off just a bare majority of politicians.
All it takes.
Always mention that system.
The sound of freedom they say. It's really the sound of hell, of the deathstar, of the end of time.
But we will create a beautiful song of resistance, Jimmy!
