Winooski Votes 2 to 1

It's time to realize what those folks are going through, and help them out.

Today is March 4, 2021. Winooski residents have just approved their Ballot question 6: 

"Shall the City of Winooski urge the State to halt F-35 training flights in a densely populated area, such as Winooski?" 

In 2019 we came up from Norwich to shop for a retirement house, with maybe an apartment on it, near the grandkids. One of the finest brick houses, with rental apartment upstairs, was in Winooski. The price was so good with a private sale, we were ready to sign on the spot. 

Just then four F-16s took off overhead. We couldn't hear ourselves think, much less talk. What the hell? 

While I'm glad we settled in the Orchards School area of South Burlington, it seems we should all lend a hand to our Winooski neighbors after they have voted 2 to 1 looking for help. This toxic weirdness is not 'freedom', and it's not 'Vermont'. It is rich, old, white mens' financial and political connections. F-35s are the jets Trump provided to the murderous Saudi prince who has been in the news lately. 

2 to 1 vote by people suffering deafening, first-strike, military jets day and night over their homes, while their values are flushed down the toilet. They need neighborly support.
