Winooski Thrown Under the Bus!

Stop targeting Winooski! Vote YES on Article 6!

By selecting Burlington International Airport (BTV) for F-35 training flights Vermont’s top political and military leaders threw Winooski under the bus.

The BTV runway aims directly at the center of Winooski, only 1 mile away. By choosing BTV for the F-35 training flights these public officials are targeting the people of Winooski.

If the BTV runway targeted the million dollar homes in the Hill Section of Burlington, where Mayor Miro Weinberger lives, would they order F-35 jets to take off from and land at BTV hundreds of times a month? Never!

Would the Mayor subject his own family to the permanent hearing damage, impaired learning, degraded cognitive development, and suffering from 8 to 16 F-35 training flights a day? Never!

If you live in Winooski, use your vote to urge the state to halt F-35 training flights in a populated area.

Vote “YES” on Article 6 on Town Meeting Day, March 2: “Shall the City of Winooski urge the state to halt F-35 training flights in a densely populated area, such as Winooski?”
